Shane Hiskins has been interviewed  live on Jack FM 3rd May 2009 where he was discussing the new site and talking about what inspired him to undertake the website.

Whether you are a builder, carpenter, plumber, roofer, electrician, joiner or landscape gardener, 121 Builders can help to increase your business for FREE and link you to an unlimited source of prospective customers.

The site is quick and easy to use – you simply start by creating a profile page. If you are a tradesperson or business you can add your company details, photographs of previous jobs and encourage past customers to leave feedback to build you a solid reputation on the site. Prospective customers can post jobs and then be contacted by a selection of companies local to your postcode who will then pitch for the work.

Shane, 26, lives on the outskirts of Oxford and is passionate about the possibilities offered by the internet. In his own words:

“As someone who has worked in the building trade for all my adult life, I have always been surprised how poorly the industry is represented online. I know the public has also been frustrated when they cannot find details of proven tradespeople on the web. As a result I was inspired to create www.121builders.comwhich is effectively an online marketplace for the building trade. I believe it’s time the industry took hold of the internet and start utilising it as much as possible. I know how daunting advertising yourself can seem and the costs incurred so I have devised a way of doing this completely FREE through 121.

Marketing & PR Campaign to start in Late March

To promote the launch of www.121builders.com, we are now embarking on an extensive marketing and PR campaign in association with our agency – Impress Media Limited (www.impress-media.co.uk) from Warminster.

If you are a builder, plumber, electrician, roofer or work in the industry, do not be surprised if you get a call from Impress offering you a free profile on this site. Impress will assist you in any way possible to ensure your company is listed on the website and will also be able to help with uploading logos, images and general information.

We will be producing and distributing press releases to both the national building industry and the press in and around the Oxford area.

If you are looking for a building job to be carried out at your home, office or working premises, please register as a user on the site and upload the details. The more jobs on the site then the more it will be used by tradespersons and the quicker the site will become an integral part of the industry.
